This piece is from the “Nagareru” series of vessels. Taken from the Japanese word for flowing, the piece is a balance between many forces. The piece features several layers of black and white underglazes that are then sanded back down through the layers creating a unique surface of variations. The piece is a porcelain clay body and has been fired to cone 6 with a felt bottom to protect from scratching. There are little imperfections and many small moments of happenstance creating a balance in the strange undulating black and white surface. This piece measures 12” x 6” X 6”
