This piece is from the “Nagareru” series of vessels. Taken from the Japanese word for flowing, the piece is a balance between many forces. The piece features a satin black underglaze surface that is very rich smooth. Many bulges and divots are pressed from the inside and outside of the form creating the surface of the vessel. The porcelain clay body has been fired to cone 6 and has a felt bottom to protect from scratching. There are little imperfections and many small moments of happenstance creating a balance in the strange undulating surface. This piece measures 19” x 7” X 7”
