This piece is from the “Nagareru” series of vessels. Taken from the Japanese word for flowing, the piece is a balance between many forces. The piece features a pale purple and pink glaze surface poured in a white flux that is dotted with little spikes and points of white gloop glaze that is then puddled with a blue flux. The interior of the piece is a black underglaze giving it a very dry look. The porcelain clay body has been fired to cone 6 and has a felt bottom to protect from scratching. There are little imperfections and many small moments of happenstance creating a balance in the strange surface. This piece measures 13.5” x 7” X 7”
