This piece is from the “Nagareru” series of vessels. Taken from the Japanese word for flowing, the piece is a balance between many forces. The piece features a pale white and yellow base glaze with a light blue underglaze mixed to pop and run. A dark flux glaze spills over the top rim and the interior of the piece. Made to have lots of different surface textures, the piece is sanded in spots and pop marks are left open. The porcelain clay body has been fired to cone 6 and has a felt bottom to protect from scratching. There are little imperfections and many small moments of happenstance creating a balance in the strange surface. This piece measures 13” x 7” X 7”
