This piece is from the “Nagareru” series of vessels. Taken from the Japanese word for flowing, the piece is a balance between many forces. There is a dark gray black bubbled glaze that gives the piece almost a sandpaper texture on the surface. Within each crater a fluxed glaze creates an almost oxidized appearance of rust aging the piece. Interior of the vessel is jet black underglaze. This porcelain clay body has been fired to cone 6 and has a felt bottom to protect from scratching. There are little imperfections and many small moments of happenstance creating a balance in the strange surface. This piece measures 13” x 7” X 7”
