87. Gut Bucket Nagareru Vessel

$500.00

This vessel is from the “Nagareru” series. Taken from the Japanese word for flowing, this piece features several layers of overlapping and running glazes. The many different types of glazes flow and bleed into each other as it travels towards the base of the vessel. The overall tone of the piece is of pinks and oranges and for some reason, the title of “Gut Bucket” just comes to my mind. Also featured in this “Gut Bucket” are many openings in the side of the piece. These ports give access to the dark inside of this vessel. They are also little spaces for the glazes to run around and through. Sometimes in vessels like this, I would like to weave in materials into the openings like fabrics, strings, or other drapery to enhance the surface. The overall size and shape is different from the other Nagareru vessels which makes this one stand out a bit. The overall size is 13” high with a diameter of 10” tapering towards the top. Perfect for a small fern or a medium human’s guts.
