This vessel is from the “Nagareru” series. Taken from the Japanese word for flowing, the piece is a balance between two forces. The textured portion of the piece is made to represent the movement of the world. Tectonic plates, river beds, and volcanoes. The smooth portion represents the stillness of the world. The two sides are in constant motion with each other. The piece is Cone 6 fired with glazes manipulated to run and mix. This piece is split down the middle with a separator in the middle chamber. There are imperfections and many small moments of happenstance creating a balance. This piece measures 13” x 9” X 9”
