This vessel is from the Mega Nagareru series. Taken from the Japanese word for flowing, the piece is a balance between two forces. The lower portion of the piece is made to represent the movement of the world. Tectonic plates, river beds, and volcanoes. The upper portion represents the stillness of the world. The two sides are in constant motion with each other and seek to form a balance. The piece is high fired with glazes manipulated to cause various effects. There are imperfections and many small moments of happenstance creating the balance sought. This piece measures 16” x 6” X 6”
